Electric Ride pitch
Electric Ride is the story of a family holiday trip across the Alps in an electric car. The documentary sets out to find out how easy it is to go charging across Europe (sorry!). On the way the family stops to interview companies making electric cars.
The idea
Petrol is over £1 / litre, oil over $100 barrel and we’ve just reached peak oil. Burning oil = climate change. Zero carbon electricity can be produced. So why the hell can’t I buy a reasonably priced or performing electric car and run it on green electricity?
Electric Ride uses the classic device of a journey to define the stage electric cars have reached. The film will explore the process of finding a suitable vehicle and then describe the story of the journey from London, UK to Sibiu, Romania via the Alps. During the journey we’ll discover just how far Europe is on the path to a zero-carbon future.
